Dr. Mark Elliott works at the intersection of water, sanitation and public health in low-resource settings. His doctoral and post-doctoral research addressed issues primarily in developing countries and his recent work focuses largely on wastewater management in the southeastern US. Topics of interest include: household water use, surface water quality, global progress in drinking water and sanitation, onsite and decentralized wastewater treatment, drinking water in Pacific Island countries, UV disinfection, functionalized membranes for water treatment, and characterizing and addressing onsite wastewater failures in rural Alabama.
